Most hotels have become more contemporary over the years but the latest trend is to give a real feel-at-home style to encourage guests to stay in one integrated space whether they’re looking to eat, relax, work or just have fun.
For this reason there is a greater need for more decorative accessories, ie. bric-a-brac, to decorate the public areas, some to fit in with the theme of the local area but some also geared towards the sort of ‘niknaks’ people have in their own homes.
So our first attempt at this was for the Staybridge Suites on the Olympic Site and then in March 2013 the Holiday Inn at Brentford Lock was the first IHG Holiday Inn in Europe to trial the brand new open plan lobby concept where we provided all the bric-a-brac. This concept is now being rolled out to most of the Holiday Inns in the UK and to date August 2014 we've already completed another 4 hotels, see HI Camden Lock, HI Huntingdon Racecourse and HI Heathrow.
