Portobello specializes in producing bespoke artwork and we design, manufacture and source images to meet a detailed brief whether for a hotel, bar, corporate lobby or simply a domestic interior for a private home.
Not only are our designers experienced in advising clients on choosing the perfect artwork to suit their design project, but they are experts in resizing and re-colouring digital or scanned images and can reproduce almost any image (subject to copyright) to fit a scheme based on style, colour and theme.
Most designers know how time consuming it is to find just the right images to suit their particular project and that’s where we can make your life so much easier - we will source the images for you.
Just give us an idea of the particular theme to be portrayed ie. London scenes, photos of the local area or forest landscapes etc, and with access to literally millions of photographic images in various online libraries and over 1500 in our own galleries, we will find a selection of pictures for you to choose from.
Examples are shown opposite - the Cigar Room at Ten Manchester Street where we sourced all the cigar smoking celebrities; Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites on the Olympic site at Stratford where we were asked to find over 2000 Olympic themed images in 2012; Premier Inn Stratford upon Avon, B&W photos of the local area; and Cambian Healthcare, Victoria House, Darlington where they wanted iconic photos of the local area.
Over the years we have had more and more requests for original painted artwork and we therefore now have several artists working for us on a regular basis, both in-house and freelance.
Again we can use a bespoke image, or one from our galleries, and add a touch of 3D to the printed canvas by overpainting parts of the image.
Or commission an original piece of artwork painted exactly to your own particular brief.
A good example of one of our ‘fake’ oils is shown opposite for the Staybridge Suites on the Olympic Site where the client wanted something wacky and original in the reception area so we came up with the idea of putting an ice cream cone on the top of the Orbit!
